3 minors among 5 booked for ragging juniors in Telangana’s IIIT-Basara


Five students of IIIT-Basara in Telangana were booked by the police for ragging their juniors at a hostel on campus. Three among the five students who were booked are minors.

By Abdul Basheer: Three minors among five students have been booked by the police for ragging their juniors at a college. The incident took place on Thursday in Telanaga’s Basara town at the IIIT institute (Rajiv Gandhi University of Knowledge Technologies).

A total of five students have been booked for ragging and assaulting their juniors. They haven’t been arrested yet.

According to Superintendent of Police, Bhainsa, “The incident took place on Thursday at a hostel in IIIT-Basara. Intermediate second-year students called three victims from the first year and slapped them.”

The SP further said, “Following the complaint by hostel management, a case has been registered against five students, including three minors. Further investigation is underway.”
